SCHOOLS WELCOME REFUGEES

Teach a child to change the world by showing them how it’s done. Your school community has everything it takes to sponsor a refugee family – and we’ll help you along the way. Together, we’ll give a thousand families a new start in Canada.

Schools Welcome Refugees was formed to support and encourage school communities that are looking to sponsor refugee families. We’ll share our learning and resources about raising funds, putting together an application and assisting with the settlement of refugee families.

Are you a parent student or teacher interested in your school community sponsoring a family? Is your school group already engaged in the process? Please take a minute and let us know so that we can recognize your efforts and help you along. We believe 1000 schools across Canada could commit to sponsoring refugee families much like church communities did in the 1970s and 1980s, and are doing today. Could your school community support a family? There are tools and resources available on this website to help you get started. Please share freely with your school community.

PLEASE LET US KNOW IF YOUR SCHOOL HAS JOINED THE 1000 SCHOOLS CHALLENGE
